Activities Around South Hutchinson Island and Fort Pierce

If you decide to venture beyond Ocean Village, you'll find plenty of choices to keep you occupied. At the northern tip of the island (2 miles), you'll find the inlet. The jetty offers a unique fishing spot that juts into the Atlantic Ocean. There's a county park running along the inlet with grills, picnic tables, and a public beach. A new sidewalk and bicycle path running parallel to the inlet offers great views of the passing boats.

Less than a mile from Ocean Village, you'll find Jaycee Park with a boat ramp, picnic tables, and playground for children.

Fishing

Fort Pierce is known for its access to great fishing, both in the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway's many tributaries and islands. Within 2 miles of our beach house, you'll find Jetty Park, where the inlet separates North and South Hutchinson Island. The jetty juts into the Atlantic Ocean and has a paved walkway for fishing.

Area Restaurants

Within a short drive or bicycle ride, you will find many quaint restaurants, some of which have an ocean view. Most are privately owned, so you will experience the best service and some really great food. There are local hangouts for the nightlife, that range from outdoor venues with music to indoor with live bands.
